Carter suffered a serious knee injury in his first exhibition game with the Bengals. He scored 15 rushing TDs from 1996-97 with the Bengals before bouncing after seven NFL seasons. He’s the last running back to be selected No. 1 in the NFL Draft.
Fullwood was known for being part of a loaded backfield at Auburn with Bo Jackson and Tommie Agee, but he didn’t quite adjust to the NFL. He did make the Pro Bowl in 1989 after rushing for 821 yards and five TDs, but he retired after the 1990 season.
Los Angeles Lakers: The long wait for Lonzo Ball to return from a knee injury appears to be winding down, as the much-talked-about rookie said Wednesday that he plans to be back on the court Friday against the Mavericks. Ball has missed 21 of the past 26 games for the Lakers while dealing with discomfort in his left knee and is shooting only 35.6 percent from the field and 48 percent from the free throw line this season.
Memphis Grizzlies: The Grizzlies are 11-33 without Mike Conley in the lineup this season, and with Conley (heel surgery) sidelined for the rest of the season, there’s a good chance this trend will continue. Be aware of the potential of a blowout if you’re streaming players against Memphis or playing daily fantasy.
Brown is the first noteworthy example of a late-season acquisition in the past 10 years. In February of 2008, a 38-year-old Brown joined the Celtics nearly nine months removed from appearing in an NBA game.
While his scoring average was less than three points per game, Brown played a major role in Boston. In Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, Brown scored 10 points without missing a field goal, highlighted by a clutch dagger with over a minute left. The Celtics went on to defeat the Lakers in the 2008 NBA Finals, and Brown retired a champion.
The Cavaliers not only have new players coming in, but they have six players going out as well. One of those players went out on more of a friendly deal as Dwyane Wade was sent home to Miami. It was bittersweet for James to see one of his best friends go, but to see the reception Wade got before the 91-85 win over the Bucks alleviated much of the pain.
